Yes, this is a busy page, but the content will address many issues & questions… I strive to be as transparent & straightforward as possible regarding all facets of my business practices. I don’t like surprises, & I’m sure you don’t either…

Thank you for your interest in TLH Photography. Your event or project is as important to me as it is to you. Every job is unique, & as such will receive the individual attention & focus necessary for success on every level.

Along with my commitment to high quality work that we can all be proud of, I endeavor to price work fairly. My rates are competitive, & I am sensitive to budget constraints & other considerations.

General Fee Structure

  • One-hour, or minimum fee is $150. This is ideal for head shots for one or two people, the edits plus Internet & print ready image files.
  • Hourly rate (two+ hours) is $100 per hour, rounded up to the next quarter-hour.
  • Daily & or Project rates may be more cost effective & as such w/b discussed & negotiated as necessary.
  • Commercial, advertising, & catalog work w/b specified/discussed/quoted in advance.
  • If required, talent (models, etc.)  w/b sourced for commercial job requirements. Please inquire for specific requirements, availability & pricing.
  • Event photography  w/b discussed/quoted in advance.
  • Head shots begin at the aforementioned $150 & rise depending on the number of people in the mix. Generally presume two, perhaps three people per hour which includes the work in post – all edits, etc.
  • Portfolios begin at $200 & rise to about $450 depending on client wishes. This generally includes several looks, changes, edits, Internet & print ready images.
  • Senior Pictures are $150 per session, including all edits, etc. Yours or the schools requirements may elevate this. If available, please bring the schools’ “spec sheet” to the session. Please check to be sure that photographers not on the schools “preferred list” are OK to use.
  • Upon request, I will email a “Prep List” for the above referenced sessions. Please be sure that everyone is prepared & ready to shoot the day of. Not doing so will add to the cost of the session(s).
  • Weddings begin at $800 & rise depending on the scope of the work, all to be discussed & agreed in detail beforehand.
  • Learning photography “While Walking Around”  Tutorials for up to 5 individuals (split the fee?) with a duration of about two hours are $200. Please inquire for specifics.
  • Photo Restoration work begins at $50, the scope of the work will be discussed beforehand & a firm price quoted.
  • Work is subject to a deposit, TBD on a “per job” basis.
  • Depending on the circumstances, all or a portion of any deposit may be held back for “last minute” cancellations.
  • Travel time & mileage of more than one hour from the Portland, ME metro area will be quoted as necessary.
  • All images from the work noted above will be delivered on an ASAP basis, by an agreed upon delivery vehicle.

Fine Art Prints for Purchase

The photographs showing in the Art & Places pages are available for purchase. Each print is matted, numbered, dated & signed. There is a limit of ten (10) prints made from each image.

  • Each photograph is the genuine article, an expensively produced, wet-processed print using a blend of traditional & modern technology. Doing so results in a finished print that will maintain its original character for decades presuming it’s properly cared for. If the specifics are of interest, shoot me an email for the detail.
  • The finished prints are matted with a white 4″ wide border on all sides & made ready for framing using double thick acid-free, archival  materials. The wide border allows your framer to trim to suit your preferences before framing should you choose to do so.
  • Prints are not sold loose. Photographs are only sold matted, numbered, dated & signed with proof of authenticity on the back of the mat. You have your choice of finish. Mat, glossy, canvas, etc., depending on the print you choose. Framing services are also available, please inquire. The prints on display here have a copyright notice in the lower corners of the images. This notice will not be showing on any finished print.
  • The Guarantee: Please remember that every phone, pad, or computer monitor renders images differently & so the delivered print may appear to be very slightly different than what you see on your device screen. This said, your purchase is fully guaranteed. If you are not completely satisfied with the print, simply return the print in its original condition & packaging within 10 days of receipt for a full refund, less shipping costs. Please be sure to insure the shipment as you are responsible for its safe return.
  • The fine print: For return credit, the photograph must be returned here in original & perfect condition, complete with the original unopened protective shrink wrap intact. No dinged or banged corners or other signs of abrasion, abuse, or stress.
  • If the shipping carton is damaged upon arrival at your home or place of business, please do not open the carton until we have spoken… Make photos (cell phone is fine) of the damaged shipping carton & email them to me. Contact me ASAP.
  • Prices vary by size beginning at about 14″x22″ (22″x30″ overall) & about $450. If requested, smaller prints may be available and will be quoted on a per-print basis. For all prints, multiple print purchase discounts may apply, please inquire.
  • Deposits are collected when a print order is placed and are not refundable once the work is in process.
  • If you reside within a reasonable driving distance from the Greater Portland, ME area, no packaging or shipping costs will apply.  Please inquire for specifics.
